Aside from the regular Zhu Zhu Pets, there is now a new character that is of great interest among girls this year. This new character is, of course, Zhu Zhu Princess. Basically this princess is like the regular Zhu Zhus that can run and squeak whenever the button on the nose is pressed. However, since it is in the color of soft pink that looks all princess-y (that was my first thought, that they are just pink hamsters) little girls have been clamoring for this Zhu Zhu above all others.

I’ve been hearing about this Zhu Zhu Princess for awhile now and when I first learned about this product my first thought was that it sounded kind of silly. I mean, how can you make a toy rodent look like a princess. Upon seeing them I was amazed at how cute they were. There are actually four types of princess hamsters. The first one is the soft pink one (the one I was talking about earlier) which has swirls on her body, the 2nd princess is also pink, although the top of her body is blue and has a drawing of the sun (in a cute way), the 3rd is a soft yellow hamster with a butterfly at the back, and the 4th is a rainbow color. The 4th one doesn’t look much like a princess, but still looks really cool. I think that you will know if it is a princess if there are designs on the back portion like a heart or a sun or whatever cute things that can be placed there.

These lovely hamster princesses are sold separately for about $25 each, but there is also a playset, known as the Zhu Zhu Princess Castle, that is also worth considering for fans of rodent royalty. The house of the Zhu Zhu Princess is, not surprisingly, a pink castle. But it is pretty similar to the habitat of other Zhu Zhus. There is also a carriage that is sold separately as well if you want to recreate Cinderella using your hamster princess. This toy is recommended for kids ages 3 and up.

Personally I like this toy because it is a cute, girly gift for girls of all ages. It is also a great addition to the Zhu Zhu Pets family. These toys are ideal for kids as it enhances their imagination, and with the princess hamster girls have a toy to rivial the boys’ Kung Zhu Ninja Warriors.
