You may even find you enjoy it. Your boyfriend will appreciate that you’re making the effort to spend time sharing one of his hobbies and he may even return the favor by joining you on one of your favorite activities.

•    Write a poem- Okay, this one might seem a bit corny, but your love poem can be as cute and silly or as earnest as you like and he will appreciate something that comes from the heart. It also doesn’t cost anything, so it’s something you can do if finances are tight right now.

•    Chocolates- Who says only women can appreciate chocolate? Men also love chocolate too, although instead of chocolate hearts maybe he would prefer a chocolate hammer or a chocolate pickup truck. Be creative to find something you both can laugh about. You can even have personalized chocolates made so that when your boyfriend opens the package he will find a special message waiting for him.

•    Cake- You can also bake a cake for your boyfriend on Valentine’s Day.  The saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach still holds true. A delicious and creatively decorated cake is something that any guy would love.

Cicciobello Love N’ Care Doll

The Cicciobello doll is a soft body baby doll that is kind of unique since it can respond to the actions of your child. It is actually called the Cicciobello Love N’ Care Doll because you have to “love and care” for the baby boy (it is wearing a blue baby shirt so it’s a boy). The doll is recommended for kids ages 3 and up and is battery operated.

The doll is cute and is actually a lot more realistic looking than other dolls you may have seen. Best of all you really have to take care of it so it is interactive. It can cry and the cheeks will sometimes get red. If it turns red you have to check if he is sick by putting his special thermometer into his ear. The thermometer will light up indicating if he has a “fever” or he is okay and simply wants to have his milk. Included in his accessories are the thermometer, milk (which you can give if he is hungry), juice, medicine (which you can give if he is having a fever), and a syringe in case he needs his vaccinations. The milk, juice, and medicine are in a baby bottle so you just have to put it in his mouth and he is happy. The child can play the mother or even the doctor occasionally. Although this toy also stimulates a child’s imagination, its interactive features will help your child enjoy it for a long time without getting bored. There is even a Cicciobello doll featuring “tinkle time” in which it can really tinkle and you have to change his diapers.

Best Friends Club Dolls Preview

Best Friends Club dolls, or BFC, Inc. for short, are produced by MGA, makers of Bratz. BFC is actually a fairly new line of doll and are quite large at 18 inches tall. It is similar to Barbie in such a way that these BFC dolls are slim and look like older kids. The joints of these dolls are also moveable so they can be posed in different ways if you decide to display them. There are five characters in BFC: Kaitlin, Addison, Calista, Noelle, and Aliesha. The last two are twins. The twins are what caught my eye since you don’t get to see a lot of dolls that are twins, right? I actually originally thought that these dolls kind of look like the grown up Bratz minus the pouty lips, but that thought disappeared when I saw the twins.

The Best Friends Club dolls are recommended for ages 6 to 9 years old. And similar to other toy dolls that look like Barbie it comes with a few accessories. If you purchase a BFC dollpack you will get extra stuff like a dress, bag, or jacket. It also comes with a mini book, sort of like a diary that has a lock. There are also other accessories that are sold separately.

What I like about these dolls is that even at first glance you can easily see that they are not like other dolls on the market that look too sexy. I never much liked the way some other dolls are dressed because some are not really that appropriate for kids. The BFC dolls are actually dressed up like regular high school girls. Even one of their accessory sets is known as “pretty and preppy” unlike the other dolls’ clothes that have names like “party all night” or something like that, which is definitely not a good influence.

Basically I think MGA are trying to compete with the practically untouchable Barbie. A lot of companies are already doing that and up to now Barbie has maintained a top position. I can’t really say if BFC will be successful, but it is still new on the market so it remains to be seen. However, unlike with Barbie there are five characters, which makes it more of a collectible than the different looks of the other doll. These toy dolls can be purchased at a range of around $30 to $40 while the dollpacks come at prices ranging from $15 to $30.

Tomica Mega Station Hypercity Set

The Tomica Mega Station Hypercity Set is one of those toys that promises to be a bestseller this coming Christmas season. It is one of the many products of Tomy Tomica, and with that name alone you know that a lot of attention was paid to detail. The product comes with a complete train station set and the train even looks like the bullet train you’d find in some Asian countries. The materials used are appear to be of high quality and it looks like it can withstand a child’s way of playing, even if they are a bit rough with their things. The Mega Station Hypercity is recommended for kids ages 4 and up because it has some small parts that are not ideal for younger children.

What makes this toy unique from other train sets is that it is not just a train set. Instead it also has a set of cars as well as the car’s own highway interlaced with the railway of the train station–making it look more like the real thing. The train can move automatically and it can also be switched to manual wherein you will be able to control the movements of the train. There is a portion in which the cars have to pass through the railway. If the trains are nearing the crossing the cars will have to stop so that it will not collide. There is a traffic light and a bar stopper to stop the cars from moving forward while the train is passing through. With the trains and the cars that can be played with manually your child should really have a lot of fun–that is if he or she is fascinated with transportation like so many young kids are.

Aside from the main features (which are the cars and trains) there is also a convenience store with a cashier inside and pavement that is used for parking cars. You can also decorate it with trees and community houses if you are not satisfied with the store that is included in the Hypercity set. These accessories are sold separately, but if you have decorations from other train sets you can use them instead if you choose. The main idea is to allow your child to be creative. Also included are the sounds and lights that are located on the sides–making the railway, the pavement, and the store come to life.

When you purchase the Tomica Mega Station Hypercity Set, you get the convenience store, the pavement/parking lot, 2 cars, a train station, railways with lights and sounds, and the train. The trains and the cars are battery operated.
